On the Frontiers of Elsewheres and Yawnder - book reading and artist talk

Nipissing’s Fine and Performing Arts department and the English Studies Speaker Series are teaming up to invite Canadian artist Jay Dart to speak about his work and present a reading from his book Wanderer of Yawnder this Friday, September 19, at 1 p.m. at Monastery Hall (M106).

Everyone is invited to attend.

Dart is a drawist and illustrator based in Ontario. His whimsical and imaginative drawings capture a place on the frontiers of the wilderness where wanderers encounter Foredad clouds, Magical Mystery Beards and Geists. Narrated by Jiggs (Dart`s alter ego), the story allegorically captures the mystical nature of inspiration, the search for innovative creation, and the dissemination of ideas.

Dart is also having an exhibition at Line Gallery, in North Bay, titled the Wanderer of Yawnder (Revisited) which features Dart’s original drawings from the book, as well as some additional work by Granduncle Jiggs. The exhibition opens September 19 at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the Downtown Gallery Hop.

Line Gallery is located at 897 Main Street West, North Bay. For more information about please visitwww.linegallery.ca
