Read&Write

Once you have downloaded and installed the software, you will login using your Nipissing student Microsoft account to gain access to the full toolbar features.

If you choose the base software (the version for Windows, for example), some browsers, like Chrome and Edge, will suggest also downloading plugins to make Read&Write more compatible with them. 
 

Please Note:
If you sign in using a non-Nipissing email address, you will only have access to the 30 day free trial. Using your Nipissing email address allows you to use Read&Write for free as long as your Nipissing University email address is valid. Ensure you're choosing "Sign in with Microsoft" during setup as that will lead you to being able to login with your @my.nipissingu.ca email.

OrbitNote: Enhancing Accessibility and Interactivity

OrbitNote is a PDF reader that significantly enhances accessibility and interactivity in documents. It offers the same tools that students rely on within Read&Write, allowing them to access course content, read files, and engage with them effectively. The best part is that OrbitNote’s basic features are included with our Read&Write license.

Key Features of OrbitNote:

• Text to Speech: Reads text aloud, including math and science equations, with dual color highlighting.
• Annotation Tools: Type, draw, or add voice notes and comments directly on PDFs.
• Highlighting: Highlight key points in the text for better comprehension.
• Collect Highlights:  Compiles all the highlights added to a PDF into a Word document, streamlining the review process.
