Welcome to Founders House!
Our Founders House Residence Complex is the smallest of our Suite Style Residence complexes and houses around 200 students, but don’t get the idea that its size makes it any less great! It’s preferred by our Nursing students because it is within walking distance to the North Bay Regional Health Centre. It is located at the bottom of College Drive, adjacent to the Chancellors House Residence Complex, just minutes from the Main Campus.
Founders is the smallest of the suite style complexes giving you a chance to adjust to university at the pace to which you are comfortable. You get the feel of the apartment style residence but it’s small enough that the community feels like one big family. You pass your peers in the hallways and you are able to build connections with your neighbours.Samantha Moore, 3rd year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student
Founders House is a Suite Style Residence Complex. Each Suite is fully furnished and designed to house up to 4 students and consists of a kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and four private bedrooms where the students have their own space to unwind.

Front Desk Services
Founders House Front Desk is located in the main lobby. The desk hours are as follows:
- Monday-Thursday 9:30am to 10:30pm
- Friday 9:30am to 3:00am
- Saturday 10:00am to 3:00am
- Sunday 10:00am to 10:00pm
At the Founders House Front Desk you can get laundry change, print/copy/fax/scan documents, sign out residence equipment (e.g. vacuums, mops/buckets), or get answers to questions that you may have. In order to sign out equipment you must leave your Nipissing University student card at the residence front desk. The student card will be returned to you once you have returned the equipment.
Founders House has 2 Laundry Rooms, one is located on the 2nd floor and one is located on the 4th floor. The washers and dryers are coin-operated at a cost of $1.50 each per load, so don’t forget to bring your loonies and quarters, but if you do, laundry change is available at the Residence Front Desk.
Founders House is located moments from the Main Campus at the bottom of College Drive. As a full time student you will receive a city transit pass, which is valid from September to April. The city buses run regularly between the main campus and Chancellors House, therefore you will get door-to-door service, which our students appreciate in the colder months of the year.
Parking and Security Services
Students parking in the Founders House lot must purchase a permit through the Security & Parking Services website. It is best to pre-order your parking pass prior to move-in day. Once you have purchased your pass, it can be picked up in the Security & Parking Office on the Main Campus. Plug in parking is available during the winter months. Arrangements for plug-in parking can be made in late fall through the Founders House Front Desk for an additional fee of $80.00. Students will be notified through an email when plug-in parking becomes available.
Living Learning Community
Founders House offers the CONNECT Living Learning Community. Connect aims to help students become citizens of the world through intercultural awareness, music, art, language, and an introduction to a variety of campus, community and global resources. You will explore current world events and international perspectives, gain a greater awareness for embracing diversity and continue to develop as global citizens.

Founders House has a Games Room on the 1st Floor which offers equipment such as pool tables, ping-pong tables, pianos, etc. There is also a large Assembly Room on the 1st Floor.
