Biidaaban Youth Group

Biidaaban Youth Group (BYG) is an online, after school program for Indigenous youth in grades 4, 5 and 6. Nipissing University student employees host 45 minute cultural, social and artistic activities between November 2020 and March 2021. 

Program location

Biidaaban Youth Group will take place virtually using an online web platform called "Zoom". Registered participants receive weekly web links to participate.  

Program hours and dates

Biidaaban Youth Group takes place on Thursdays, from 3:45pm to 4:30pm (45 minutes per session).

Program end celebration - Niminowaazmin ("We are celebrating")

On Sunday, March 28th, the entire family is invited to join us online for a very special 2 hour program celebration. Expect fun for the whole family! Details to follow.

Niminowaazmin (Year-end celebration)

Niminowaazmin is the Office of Indigenous Initiatives' year-end celebration for Biidaaban Youth Group and Biidaaban Academic Support, honouring the successes of participating youth, their families, as well as our partners, tutors, student volunteers and employees. 

Niminowaazmin is an Anishinaabe word that means "we are celebrating".

Virtual activities to include traditional teachings, cultural and artistic activities, games, and door prizes. 

When: Sunday, March 28th, 2021, 1:30pm - 3:30pm
