Dr. Srigley reflects on wisdom in place

Dr. Katrina Srigley, associate professor of History, has contributed a new blog post to Activehistory.ca, recounting a recent trip to Mnidoo Mnising (Manitoulin Island) as part of the Manitoulin Island Summer Historical Institute.

In the post, titledWisdom in Place: Learning through Relationships, Dr. Srigley reflects of her experiences on the island, working to listen to the wisdom of place, to “listen carefully to all of the storytellers here —land, animals, plants, humans, water, spirits—and acknowledge their gifts of knowledge”, as well as herown relationship to the place.
