NU welcomes Joe Roberts

Currently on a cross-Canada walk to raise awareness and money for Youth Homelessness, Joe Roberts will be at Nipissing University for a special talk on overcoming adversity on Thursday, January 12, at 3 p.m. in the Nipissing Theatre (F213).

Roberts’ cross-Canada trek, titled The Push for Change, began May 1, 2016 in St. John’s Newfoundland, and will end on September 30, 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia. It’s a 9,000km, 17-month journey, and Roberts is pushing a shopping cart, a symbolic representation of chronic homelessness, the whole way.

A former homeless addict, who transformed his difficult life to become a successful businessman, Roberts has personally experienced the power of possibility thinking in the face of some of life’s biggest obstacles, and he is dedicated to sharing this possibility mindset with others who are going through their own challenges.

This event is open to everyone and is free-of-charge.
