Indigenous Scholar in Residence

During the week of January 25-29, Nipissing University and the Office of Aboriginal Initiatives welcomed Indigenous Scholar in Residence, Dr. Shauneen Pete, from the University of Regina.

Dr. Pete, currently the Executive Lead of Indigenization on her campus, engaged with students, staff and faculty through a series of classroom presentations, workshops and training sessions including a public keynote co-presented by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Arts and Sciences. She spoke on topics of Indigenization, decolonization and anti-oppressive practices in relation to the Office of Aboriginal Initiatives’ current project: Redefining Aboriginal Student Success.
