Grad helping out in Malaysia

Kara Stewart is working to make the world a better place and you can help, while maybe winning a weekend golf getaway, personal massage or dinner out in the process.Stewart, a recent History graduate from Nipissing, is pursuing missions work in Malaysia this coming December. She has organized the Cahaya Silent Auction to help raise funds for her cause. All proceeds will support volunteer efforts in various parts of Asia, including running children's programs, teaching English classes and restoring buildings.
There are some fantastic packages available in the auction, which runs until July 2, 2014. For more details and to start bidding (and helping), visit the website, right here.
Stewart was initially reluctant to participate in the trip to Malaysia, wondering if she was ready mentally, not to mention financially. The idea of the trip stuck with her, however, and she started to do some research on the area, what the group was hoping to accomplish and how she could fundraise in North Bay.
“I started to think of all the amazing benefits of doing this missions trip and how much I could learn and grow,” she said. “I realized I have the time and resources to make this trip possible and what better way to spend my time than to make a difference in a less fortunate part of the world.”?
