Biomass Innovation Centre hosting Tour of Bioenergy Facilities

This Saturday, October 4, the Biomass Innovation Centre invites everyone to join in their Blue Sky Bioenergy Tour - a guided tour of bioenergy installations in the North Bay area, including:South Shore Education Centre - biomass boiler which uses wood pellets to cover the buildings' normal heating requirements
Merrick Landfill Power Plant – biogas project which extracts methane gas from the landfill and converts it into electricity
The tour is a part of Ontario's Green Energy Doors Open event - a province-wide showcase of individual, community and commercial sustainable energy projects, involving participation from over 100 event hosts in 75 communities.
The BIC will be providing transportation to/from the tour facilities.  The shuttle will depart from the Biomass Innovation Centre office (Portable 1 at Nipissing University) at 9 a.m., and will return at approximately 1 p.m.
