Got organs, blood, bones - You using them

ENACTUS Nipissing is holding their second Annual Halloween Blood Donor Save-a-Life Clinic on campus this Halloween, October 31, from noon – 3p.m. in the Education Centre gymnasium. This year, the event includes two important partners: Trillium Gift of Life Network - Online Organ Donation, and OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network.  It’s one stop shopping to save lives on Halloween!
ENACTUS Nipissing volunteers will be on hand to provide information about the three initiatives.  Participants have the chance to give blood, learn about OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network and get their mouth swabbed (stage 1 of the screening process) for the bone marrow network, learn about organ donation, and join the online registry using provided iPad stations.
ENACTUS Nipissing University students developed this initiative to raise awareness, on campus and throughout the community, of the importance blood donation, organ donation, and the bone marrow registry.
So…are you using those organs?  Have you ever considered giving your organs up when you are done with them?
Meet Traci Brooks, project coordinator in the School of Business.  She received a cornea transplant when she was seven years old.  Without it she would have lost sight in one eye.Still not convinced?
