Health, Healing and Religion Conference

Nipissing University’s department of Religions and Cultures is pleased to announce the Health, Healing and Religion Conference, taking place at the Vidya Institute (232 Christie Street, Toronto) May 25 – 27.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural conference, this year’s conference will examine strategies for using the wisdom of the world’s religious traditions for healing while living in a secular society. This includes a discussion of how to bring spiritual teachings into curriculum in medical and nursing schools and into a wide variety of institutions.

The conference is open to anyone interested in health and wellness. It features presentations and workshops that provide resources for academic and health-care communities as well as other interested parties. Participants will enjoy presentations, engage in roundtable discussions and take part in various meditative and stress management practices led by professionals.  Free treatment sessions are also available including shiatsu massage and consultation with a naturopath, subject to availability.

The conference is sponsored by Nipissing University, the Dean of Applied and Professional Schools, the Dean of Arts and Science, and Vidya Institute.
