Rescuing Chilean Miners presentation at Nipissing

Nipissing University welcomes Roy Slack to campus for a presentation titled, Rescuing the Chilean Miners: The Canadian Connection, on Wednesday, November 30, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Weaver Auditorium (B200).

Slack’s presentation will highlight the involvement of Cementation Inc. in the rescue of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped for 69 days underground at the San José copper and gold mine in northern Chile in 2010.   

Slack is the President of Cementation Inc., a North Bay-based underground mine contracting and engineering company that provides services to clients throughout North and South America.  Mr. Slack is an engineer with over 29 years of experience with mine contracting, consulting, and business management throughout Canada and the world.

The presentation is organized by the Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council.
