Nipissing and Canadore investing in local business

Nipissing University and Canadore College are teaming up with the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce to host a business mini-trade show and business after hours event Thursday afternoon.

The event is planned as a part of the 32nd Annual Small Business Week. This year’s theme is Power Up Your Business. Invest. Innovate. Grow. Canadore and Nipissing are excited to offer a venue for businesses to highlight their products and services in support of this goal.

“Embracing an entrepreneurial spirit in today’s economy is absolutely essential,” said Brad Gavan, director of corporate, community and alumni partnership. “Canadore has always worked closely with local businesses and we are lucky to have so many forward-thinking leaders in our community. We can all learn so much from each other to prosper as a region in the province, country and even on the world-wide stage.”

The partnership between Nipissing, Canadore and the Chamber is ideal as all three institutions develop, support and empower employees and leaders in local business and industry.

“Nipissing and especially the school of business are very proud of the many partnerships that we enjoy with local businesses,” said Bob Carpenter, chair of the school of business at Nipissing University.  “Working with business partners provides our students with valuable learning experiences that translate into very real leadership attributes, essential to success in business.  As well, it is wonderful to see so many of our graduates using the knowledge and skills they learned at Nipissing to help businesses achieve success.”

Join us at the Harris Learning Library at the Education Centre Campus (100 College Drive) on October 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet, network and socialize with fellow business professionals in celebration of Small Business Week.
