Special Student

Reasons for taking courses at Nipissing as a Special Student:

  • Upgrading
  • Qualifying year for a professional or graduate program
  • Completion of courses for a professional designation
  • General interest

Special Student status is not eligible for OSAP funding.  If you plan on applying for OSAP consideration you should apply to degree level studies at Nipissing.

Nipissing has two Special Student categories.

Special Student

Holders of recognized university degrees are eligible to apply for admission consideration as a Special Student. Course prerequisites must be met for any course you would like to register for.

Special Student Application

Applicants must submit official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended and/or are currently attending. Transcripts must be sent directly to Nipissing from the issuing institutions.

Special Interest

Applicants wishing to complete courses on a special interest basis are welcome to apply. Students can complete up to 18 credits on a special interest basis.  Once students have completed 18 credits, they must apply for admission consideration to a degree program if they wish to continue taking courses. Contact the Admissions Office at admissions@nipissingu.ca for more information and to request an application.
