Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position in the Psychology Department at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. The program of research involves investigating the effects of steroid hormones (e.g., testosterone, cortisol) on human aggression, competitive motivation,and mating psychology and behaviour.

The position is funded by a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Discover Accelerator Supplement and the successful applicant will work with Dr. Justin Carré. There is some flexibility but ideally the position would begin by September 1, 2020.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in psychology, biology, neuroscience, or a relate field. Previous research experience in behavioural endocrinology, evolutionary biology, or neuroscience would be an asset. Sound knowledge and experience of quantitative methodologies are essential. The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Duties would include development of research ideas/protocols, mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students, performing hormone immunoassays, data management and analysis, pre-registration of study protocols and hypotheses, and manuscript write-ups. The postdoctoral researcher will work as part of a larger team of collaborators and graduate students, but would be expected to take a leadership position in managing and executing projects. The annual salary for this position is $50,000 per year, which includes vacation pay.
