About the Job
Brucelea Haven LTC is seeking qualified applicants for a Recreation & Leisure Summer Student position. Reporting to the Manager of Recreation & Leisure, the successful incumbent will join a team focusing on implementing individualized recreation and leisure programs to the residents of Brucelea Haven. This position will work full time hours for the duration of the summer.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Prepare and setup for Recreation programs
Participate and assist with implementation of programs under the direction of Recreation staff
Porter residents to and from programs
Maintain cleanliness of activity rooms
Assist in creating the monthly activity calendars
Wage: $16.00 per hour + 4% vacation in lieu
Requirements
Qualifications:
Enrollment in a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or another related field from a community college or university for Fall 2023
Able to meet the physical demands of the position (stand, walk, porter residents for extended periods)
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact with residents, families, and other staff in a positive and diplomatic manner
Available to work weekends, evenings and days
