Please check back for further information re: 2018/2019 dates.
We offer free literacy programming on bi-weekly Saturdays in the Fall and Winter. During these sessions, children are partnered one-on-one or in small groups with a reading mentor (Nipissing University teacher candidates) to support their growing literacy skills through each activity.
At themed bi-weekly sessions, children will:
- Participate in interactive group and one-on-one/small group activities
- Develop skills in a high-support learning environment
- Interact with encouraging adults, who model enthusiasm for reading and literacy
Registration for the Saturday Sessions is required prior to attending a session. Registration occurs separately in both Fall and Winter (5 sessions at a time). The registration link will appear at the top of this page when registration opens. For notifications of registration dates, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on our listserv.
Two sessions are held each specified Saturday, from 10:00am - 11:00am and 11:15am - 12:15pm. Each session offers mixed age programming and is available to anyone between the ages of 4-12 years.
The sessions are held at the North Bay Public Library in either the basement Auditorium or the Story Book Room in the children's section of the library. The room is specified beside the session dates below as determined.
Fall Saturday Sessions (October - December)
Winter Saturday Sessions (January - April)
