Recognition of Nominees Day

The Recognition of Nominees Day, formerly known as Annual Evening of Applause, is held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This local event is a partnership between the North Bay and Area Local Immigration Partnership, North Bay & District Multicultural Centre (NBDMC), all four school boards, Canadore College and Nipissing University. Each year a new inductee to the Human Rights Hall of Fame is named and students are celebrated during this event with recognition of their achievements and efforts to end racial discrimination. 

Two Nipissing University students, Tyrell Chambers and Deven Doodnath, will be recognized during the event with a “Student Who Made a Difference” Award for their contributions to making the Nipissing campus and the North Bay community more inclusive.
