Kelly Smirle

Kelly Smirle is currently the Clinical Manager of Live in Treatment Services at Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca. Kelly completed her BSW through University of Manitoba and her MSW through University of Waterloo. As Clinical Manager of Live in Treatment Services, Kelly has been the project lead for a complete redesign of the mental health live in treatment centre for youth creating an intensive program and crisis stabilization. Kelly is also a partner in the redesign of crisis services for children’s mental health in the community. Currently Kelly also provides clinical supervision to registered social workers and psychotherapists providing direct care to clients and families. Kelly started her career as a Child and Youth Worker working in youth treatment centres. She recognized a passion to continue to learn and grow and continued her education while gaining experience in the social work field. Kelly is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Attachment, Regulation and Competency Framework, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a variety of other approaches. Other areas of interest and experience include development of programs and coordinating services between social agencies.
