Summer Family Support Programs

To support students in their goal in achieving academic success, the Indigenous Education Programs have developed a number of daily activities for children of our students attending classes during the summer session:

Youth Experience Program (YEP)

The Youth Experience Program creates learning experiences for children aged 4 to 10 years of age at Nipissing University during the summer academic session. Each week, youth will participate in a series of exciting learning activities designed to keep your child engaged and entertained while parents/guardians attend class. Activities include field trips to local amenities (Lake Nipissing beaches, hiking trails), land-based teachings, STEM-focused projects and arts-based activities.

We ask parents/guardians to ensure that their child(ren) arrive at the Youth Experience Program with appropriate clothing and other items for the planned activities. This will include sneakers, bathing suits, towels, hats, and sunscreen. Please remember to pack a daily lunch and snacks for your child.

The YEP runs from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily (Monday-Friday) for the duration of the summer academic session.

Registration information for the Youth Experience Program (YEP) will be sent to applicants of our Indigenous Education Programs (on-campus programs only).
