For almost a decade she has been supporting teaching assistants, graduate students, and faculty in their teaching development, and has taught graduate level courses on university teaching and learning. She has a PhD in Environmental Health Psychology, and currently holds an Assistant Professor rank with the Jo Watts Williams School of Education at Elon University and an Adjunct Professor status through the School of Health and Human Performance at Dalhousie University. Teaching Assistants and new Instructors juggle a variety of tasks in a course, from marking and providing feedback facilitating face-to-face and online learning, and navigating building a professional relationship with students. This session will cover topics such as: quick teaching tricks to integrate into your courses, managing workloads, and strategies for navigating your role as a teacher and a learner. Whether you are new to being a TA, returning to the role this September, or will be supporting TAs in your own course, or new to teaching at Nipissing, join us for a session on how to support your work!
