Summer Orientation

Summer Orientation 2026

Summer Orientation details are on the way. Our team is currently shaping this year’s Summer Orientation schedule with care, and we invite you to check back regularly as details are confirmed. As plans come together, this space will be updated with opportunities to connect, explore supports, and begin building your place within the Lakers community. We appreciate your patience as we prepare an experience that honours where you’re coming from and supports where you’re going.

Please Note: Summer Orientation is a hybrid program with online learning modules, a webinar series, and on-campus programming that highlight various resources for students and their supporters. Students and supporters can look ahead to on‑campus Summer Orientationexperiences taking place on July 24 and July 31, 2026 -- attend one day and choose the date that works best for you. More information about these days will be shared soon.

Why participate in Summer Orientation?

During Summer Orientation you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend mini-tours of various campus locations
  • Learn about what services and supports are here for you – and how to connect
  • Stay in our award-winning Residence Complexes
  • Chat with current student leaders about the NU student experience
  • Learn valuable ‘next steps’ to prepare you for your start at NU

We also have programming and resources for the supporters in your life – whether that be parents, family, guardians or friends!

Online Learning Modules

Your Online Learning Modules are currently being worked on. These modules are a crucial part of your Summer Orientation, as they are designed to help you learn the process of course registration, navigate your student accounts, fee payment and introduce you to the student supports and services offered throughout your academic journey. These modules can be completed at your own pace, and you have access to them throughout the year.

Stay With Us

If you’re travelling to campus for Summer Orientation, stay with us the night before and/or the evening following your orientation day. An overnight stay can help make your experience feel more relaxed and welcoming, while also giving you the opportunity to explore campus on your own time, spend time together, and experience residence life before the start of the academic year. Guests can book a private room within one of our four-bedroom residence suites, a comfortable and convenient option for students and supporters alike. Staying overnight also gives you extra time to enjoy some of what North Bay has to offer, including local restaurants, waterfront beaches, and the scenic trails connected to campus.

Ready to explore room layouts, pricing, and availability? Visit our Summer Accommodations page to learn more and book your stay.
