This training focuses on understanding the importance of intervention, recognizing potentially harmful situations, and learning the necessary skills for safe intervention. The Sexual Violence Recognition, Intervention & Response Training for Student Leaders is an empowering program that equips student leaders with the knowledge and skills to effectively recognize, intervene in, and respond to instances of sexual or gender-based violence. This training focuses on understanding the importance of intervention, recognizing potentially harmful situations, and learning the necessary skills for safe intervention. Participants will also gain insight into available resources for support and learn how to appropriately respond to disclosures. 

This training aims to develop skills and increase the confidence of student leaders when navigating experiences of sexual or gender-based violence. By participating in this training, students will:

- Understand the importance of intervention in harmful situations and feel motivated to take action.

- Recognize potentially harmful situations and understand the complex behaviours associated with sexual violence that are often normalized and challenging to recognize.

- Acquire the skills necessary for safe intervention and have the opportunity to practice or visualize applying them in future situations.

- Learn how to effectively respond to disclosures and identify available resources for support.
