Dear Conference Participants,

Welcome to the 2016 CICAS conference, “The Future of Human(ity),” July 22-24, 2016! We are excited to see you in July. We have received contributions from all over the world: the topics cover a wide range of issues from education, humanities, social sciences, and sciences. We are in the process of finalizing the conference program—further information regarding the schedule of individual panels will be up on the website shortly.

Panels and Presentation Timelines

All papers will be divided into panels. We are aiming for three papers per panel. Each panel will be assigned 75 minutes: 60 minutes for presentations and 15 minutes for questions. Except for presentations marked “keynote,” all presentations should be kept to 20 minutes. We urge you to respect the time limit. There will be 15-minute breaks between panels to allow for further discussion and networking.

There will be a data projector and computer (with PowerPoint on both Mac and PC platforms) available in the conference venue. You will also be able to connect your own laptop to the projector, connect to the internet, and play music or other sounds from whichever computer you are using. If your presentation requires any special technical equipment, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Registration will be open until June 31, 2016. To register, please visit: www.regonline.ca/2016cicasconference

Registration Costs

  • Presenter (full-time faculty): $250 CAD
  • Presenter (part-time & sessional faculty; independent scholars): $200 CAD
  • Non-Presenter: $150 CAD
