Position Title: International Student Support Office Assistant

Hours of Work: 15 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $17.60 per hour + Vacation as determined by HR policy
Job Description:
The International Student Support Office Assistant provides administrative, program, and student-facing assistance to International Student Support (ISS) team, the International Student Mentorship Program (ISMP), and World University Services Canada (WUSC) initiatives. This role supports international student transition, engagement, and success by assisting with orientation activities, mentorship programming, communications, and day-to-day administrative duties.
Duties Include:
- Support the planning of international student orientation including the planning of arrival, and transition activities, tracking forms, booking rooms, and preparing welcome materials
- Assist with the coordination for the ISMP program, including mentor recruitment, training support, mentor–mentee matching, meetings, events, trips, and drop-in sessions.
- Support student communications by assisting with the management of email accounts, social media pages, Teams groups, and creating promotional materials using Canva under the guidance of ISS staff.
- Provide general administrative support, including booking rooms, preparing agendas, organizing inventory, and assisting with shipping and receiving.
- Learn about international student processes and campus resources to help direct students to appropriate supports and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current Nipissing University Student
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable using digital tools (Microsoft Teams, email, social media, Canva)
- Interest in international education, student engagement, or peer support
- Reliable, professional, and culturally sensitive
