Job Description:

Role Summary:
This is a leadership role. The head of ropes is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive staff training on all ropes facilitation, management, and essential soft skills. A critical component of the role is rope management, ensuring strict adherence to all OPASSE, OCA, and TSSA regulations through required aerial inspections, rigorous documentation, and overseeing equipment maintenance and storage. The role requires the ability to coordinate and manage rescue procedures while serving as the primary point of contact for staff safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set an example of how to be an excellent Outdoor Education Instructor at Olympia
  • Exemplify and uphold Olympia’s core values of safety, teamwork, and respect at all times
  • Create a positive and uplifting environment for all staff
  • Periodic inspections of all challenge course and ropes elements
  • Staff Management
  • Assist with initial and on-going staff training

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Clean Police Record Check
  • ACCT Level 2 Certification or Hours to Obtain

  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Experience working with youth in a camp setting
