The Ontario Public Service (OPS) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Ontario Internship Program (OIP) and upcoming launch of the Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO) program!  

Ontario Internship Program (OIP)  

The OIP helps post-secondary graduates start and accelerate their careers through a one year full-time, paid developmental opportunity in the OPS. Interns benefit from a dynamic learning environment, including orientations, access to networks, mentorship and ongoing coaching to support career development. Internship placements are available across the province in various ministries and agencies; however, majority of the placements are in Toronto. Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO)  

The SEO program provides up to 4,000 high school and post-secondary students with summer employment between May and September with Ontario government ministries, agencies and select organizations.

The OPS has organized virtual launch events to provide students, recent graduates and education support workers an opportunity to learn about the differences between the OIP and SEO programs, how to apply and tips for the application and interview process.
