The Capitol Centre, with the financial support of NOHFC, is offering a one year contract opportunity.
Job Description: The Capitol Centre is seeking a Content Creator to support community engagement initiatives within the WKP Kennedy Gallery and the Betty Speers Theatre. This position will work closely with the Gallery Director / Curator and the Marketing Department. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, social marketing strategies, artist engagement and exhibition documentation, perfect for those looking to grow their expertise in the creative sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and engaging visitors to the gallery, sharing information on exhibitions and upcoming programming, assisting with artworks sales, inventory and administrative tasks
- Representing the organization within the community at outreach booths to engage with broader audiences
- Filming and editing short videos highlighting theatre and gallery events, workshops and special events as well as exhibitions and intall highlights for socials
- Developing and scheduling regular posts for theatre and gallery social channels, initiating engaging content series, and monitoring engagement metrics
Qualifications: The candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or be unemployed or underemployed entering a new field. The candidate may not have previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship, must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in Canada. The position will be the first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.
A background in marketing or promotions is an asset. Experience working with Canva and Adobe Suite in addition to comfort conducting interviews and compiling video footage is necessary for this role. Strong communication skills and an autonomous work ethic is a must.
Salary: $35,000 for a one-year contract.
