Accessing T2202A

T2202A (Tuition, Education & Textbook Certificates) and T4As (for students in receipt of bursary, scholarship and award income) will be available on WebAdvisor for the 2023 taxation year at the end of February, 2024. To print certificates, please go to MyNipissing and log in to WebAdvisor. Select Students or AQ, Masters or PHD Students and then Tax Forms.

If you have forgotten your User ID or password, please follow the on screen instructions on the MyNipissing homepage. If you are still unable to access WebAdvisor, please call Tech Services at 705.474.3450 ext. 4342 or email techsrv@nipissingu.ca

Please note: These forms will not be  emailed or mailed to students. You must access them through WebAdvisor. The Finance Department will not be able to send forms to students.

T2202A certificates reflect allowable fees/months applicable to the 2023 taxation year for Winter, Spring/Summer and Fall term (not the academic year), therefore they  may reflect only a portion of the total fees paid. All eligible fees (if any) for 2023 are listed on the first line of the form, they are not separated by study period.

Quebec students

The RL-8 form is a tax form of the Ministère du Revenu du Québec and is intended only for Quebec residents. Only educational institutions in Quebec are required to produce RL-8 forms for students. Nipissing University does not issue RL-8 tax forms. Students completing tax returns for Quebec can use the T2202/T2202A to file their tax return

US students

Nipissing University does not issue 1098T tax forms; US students can use the T2202/T2202A to file a US tax return.

International students

Nipissing University provides T2202/T2202A certificates, T4A slips, and donation receipts for all active students to enable them to complete their Canadian tax return. Contact a tax professional to determine whether you need to file a Canadian tax return and/or a tax return in your country of origin.

The T2202A will only reflect eligible education amounts, for the tax year once applicable fees have been paid.  If eligible tuition fees have not been paid, we will be unable to issue a tax receipt.

Residence Fees

Please note that for income tax purposes, students living in Nipissing University residences cannot claim the residence fees paid in box 6110 of their tax return, but can check box 6114 to be considered on form ON-BEN for the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC) - no receipt is required. Residence fees do not receive the same tax treatment as rent paid to a landlord.

For information on Income Tax as it pertains to students claiming scholarship, bursary and award income, tuition fees, education tax credits etc. please refer to the following CRA publication: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tg/p105/README.html
