Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Work Type: In-Person

Job Description:

Foresight IEC is seeking certified ESL teachers for full-time contracts in Taipei, Taiwan, to teach at our elementary or high schools.

Our unique ESL program combines an engaging curriculum, high-interest topics, and interactive teaching methods. You will be working within a strong, international ESL teaching team which includes a great support system in the form of more experienced mentor teachers and teacher directors. We also have site directors, local educational assistants, program support staff, and program principals who assist teachers with all aspects of the program.

The extensive support we provide is one of the cornerstones of our program and what seems to attract teachers and retain them from year to year. Teachers benefit by making a meaningful impact in students’ lives while also gaining relevant professional experience using the Ontario curriculum that can be used towards furthering their careers in Canada and beyond. With Ontario Principals’ support, teachers can use positive references for further career opportunities. To learn more, visit our website: https://teachintaiwan.com/

As an ESL teacher in our program, you will be responsible for working with your colleagues at the school to use the curriculum and the resources from previous years to develop and deliver ESL lessons. You will be able to set up your own classroom and will teach the same group of students daily, allowing for strong teacher-student relationships. Teaching hours follow regular school hours, typically from 8:00-4:30, with personal preparation periods throughout the day. A standard week includes 22 teaching hours, with the rest of the time split between personal preparation, lesson planning with teaching partners, and professional development meetings. As part of the planning, teachers are in charge of designing and marking exams, as well as writing report cards and attending parent-teacher interviews. Small class sizes and the availability of a multitude of resources and professional support will allow you to make a meaningful impact in students’ lives while enhancing your teaching skills and gaining relevant professional experience.
