Previous Nipissing students who have not registered in courses for more than an 18-month period are required to apply for readmission before they will be permitted to register and will be required to follow the degree and program requirements for the calendar year in which they resume their enrollment.
Readmission vs Program Change
Submit a program change to programchange@nipissingu.ca if:
- You are a current Nipissing student; and
- You have registered for courses within the last 18-month period; and
- You are not requesting to change to Bachelor of Physical and Health Education, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (all programs), Concurrent Education, or History with an Orientation to a Master of Arts in History
Apply for readmission if:
- You are a current or former Nipissing student who has not registered in courses for more than an 18-month period; or
- You are a current of former Nipissing student interested in Bachelor of Physical and Health Education, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (all programs), Concurrent Education, or History with an Orientation to a Master of Arts in History
Application
Unless otherwise stated, current or former Nipissing students applying for readmission will use the Readmission Application.
- OMAH: Applicants must have completed a minimum of 18 credits of undergraduate study at Nipissing, and no more than 30 university credits (including transfer credits) for admission consideration. A minimum overall average of 72% on all university courses completed is required.
- Nursing (4 -year): Admission consideration will be given to readmission applicants who have completed a minimum of 18 credits of undergraduate study and were in good standing (not on probation or have been asked to withdraw) when they last attended Nipissing. A minimum overall average of 70% on all university courses completed is required. Applicants must also have completed 4U Biology and 4U Chemistry (or equivalent courses).
- BPHE: Admission consideration will be given to readmission applicants who have completed a minimum of 18 credits of undergraduate study and were in good standing (not on probation or have been asked to withdraw) when they last attended Nipissing. A minimum overall average of 70% on all university courses completed is required. Applicants must also have completed 4U Biology or 4U Intro to Kinesiology (or equivalent courses).
- Concurrent Education: Applicants must have completed a minimum of 18 credits of undergraduate study at Nipissing, and no more than 72 credits (including transfer credits). A minimum overall average of 72% on all university courses completed is required. Applicants must also have completed a 3U, 3M or 4U Mathematics (or equivalent) with a minimum 60% or a university or college level Mathematics (not Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Program courses or Statistics) with a minimum grade of 60%
- Concurrent Education Professional Years: You will receive an email in the Fall of your fourth year with instructions on how to fill out your Intent to Continue.
Additional Readmission Policies
Upgrade to an Honours Degree with an Honours Specialization
Students who have graduated with a Nipissing three-year Bachelor of Arts or three-year Bachelor of Science degree, and who wish to upgrade to an Honours Bachelor of Arts or an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, with an honours specialization in the same subject of study, may apply for readmission to the University indicating their intent to pursue an Honours upgrade in the same subject of study on the application for readmission.
To graduate with an Honours Bachelor degree students must meet the current published requirements for the Honours degree and the Honours Specialization as specified in the Academic Calendar for the year they are readmitted.
Upgrade to a Bachelor Degree with a Specialization
Students who have graduated with a Nipissing three-year Bachelor of Arts or three-year Bachelor of Science degree, and who wish to upgrade to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in the same subject of study, may apply for readmission to the University indicating their intent to pursue an upgrade in the same subject of study on the application for readmission.
To graduate with Bachelor degree students must meet the current published requirements for the Bachelor degree and the Specialization as specified in the Academic Calendar for the year they are re-admitted.
