Junior Fishing Guide at Old Post Lodge
Seasonal Full-Time Contract Position: May - September, 2026
Your rate of pay: $3500 per month plus Tips
Your employment with the Old Post includes accommodation and meals.

Old Post Lodge is a seasonal wilderness fishing resort and we are currently hiring fishing guides for the 2026 season. Opportunity for contract renewal is available. The season runs mid May until early September.

Old Post Lodge is entering its 40th season as a world-class fishing destination. Located on an old Hudson Bay trading post, it is a unique place to both live and work.

We are looking for an outgoing individual who takes pride in their work and is not afraid to take the initiative. Someone who is self-motivated and likes working in a close-knit team in a remote setting. No guiding experience is required, as we are willing to train and invest time in teaching our guides the lake and all the skills that are required of a fishing guide working with our company, however, a passion for fishing is a must!

Ability to commute/relocate: Pickle Lake, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
 

Required Qualification:

  • Possess or ability to obtain a valid G drivers’ licence
  • Possess or ability to obtain a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card
  • Possess or ability to obtain a valid Outdoors Card with a sport fishing licence.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote setting and adapt to the challenges of lodge life.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a seasonal, remote environment.
