Dr. Schinkel-Ivy talks movement and healthy aging
ArticleDr. Alison Schinkel-Ivy, Associate Professor, Physical and Health Education, received an NSERC Discovery Grant in the amount of $120,000 over five years for her research titled Towards an improved understanding of aging: Quantifying changes in movement during healthy aging using integrated biomechanical approach. Dr. Schinkel-Ivy will receive an additional one-year $12,500 supplement as part of the Discovery Launch Supplement program aimed at supporting early career researchers who are establishing their research program.
The NU News sat down with Dr. Schinkel-Ivy to discuss her research project and how the NSERC Discovery Grant will contribute to the study.

Social work students contribute to COVID-19 response efforts in Tanzania
ArticleNipissing University students from the International Social Work class recently completed a community service learning project with a non-governmental organization in Tanzania called Peri-Urban Ambulatory Nexus Tanzania (PANETA), aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19 among the working poor in the busy Kariakoo market area in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. -
$8.4 Million for Post-Secondary Institutions
