ProgramIn July 2017, KPMG LLP was engaged by Nipissing University to undertake a study of the economic impacts of the University. KPMG assessed Nipissing’s economic impacts from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. This report summarizes the results of our review. -

Department of Sociology and Anthropology
ProgramSociology is the scientific study of organization and social interaction through its emphasis on sociological perspectives and systematic observation and measurement. Sociologists seek to understand causes of various social issues in our daily life, like inequalities of race, ethnicity, health, education, gender and income. We investigate the consequences of changes in the family, population, religion, environment and culture, on our individual and social lives. -

ProgramGeography is the interdisciplinary study of our world, its physical characteristics like water, landforms, vegetation and climate as well as the relationships between people and the environment. You can choose between one of our three Geography degree options. -

ProgramThe Computer Science program provides a strong foundation in computer science theory and in its practical applications including neural networks, artificial intelligence, robotics, graphics, computer security, software engineering, and game design. You may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Science, based on your preference and the courses you choose. -
Master of Arts in History
ProgramThe Master of Arts in History program consists of course work, a Major Research Paper, and a presentation of research at the annual Graduate Student Conference. It is offered as both a one-year full-time program or a three-year flex-time program. Our program centres on the following fields: International, Gender, Canadian, European, and Environmental history. -
Master of Arts in Sociology
ProgramThe Master of Arts in Sociology program focuses on the application of social theories and research methodologies that assist with understanding and addressing social problems and development challenges in northern and rural communities, including First Nations and other Indigenous communities. Students can elect to complete the one-year Major Research Paper (MRP) or the two-year Thesis Research Project (TRP). Both MRP and TRP students have the option of completing a 96-hour practicum component with a placement in a government, not-for-profit, or private agency.
