The Dr. Ilse Mueller Memorial Scholarship in Ancient Studies
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$4,825.00The Ilse Mueller Scholarship will be awarded to two full-time students with a major in Classical Studies, at Nipissing, with the highest overall average, (minimum of 80%). Additionally, the recipients must meet at least one of the following criteria: the student is enrolled in CLAS 3415 - Fieldwork in Classical Archaeology and is attending the Balkan Heritage Field School; or the student is enrolled in, or otherwise conducting work relevant to, the Certificate in Digital Classics at Nipissing University. -
Leah Symington Award in Fine Arts

At the department's discretion, the award may alternatively be given to a third year student, to ensure that a fourth year of study remains financially accessible. Preference will be given to a full-time student. -
BSW Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Social Work Leadership in Northeastern Ontario

This leadership shall be demonstrated by: i. Understanding and enacting the core principles of anti-oppressive practice in a variety of ways such as: achievements in field education, academic assignments, group projects, classroom discussions, extra-curricular activities, peer mentoring and leadership; ii. Using anti-oppressive practice to promote empowerment among oppressed groups; and iii. Challenging inequality and/or oppression in their own lives and practice. The recipient, who will receive a certificate at Convocation, is selected by the School of Social Work on the recommendation of the Social Work Departmental Group. -

The recipient must demonstrate financial need, have a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude towards their studies. Students are required to submit a short paragraph outlining why they feel they are deserving of the award, with specific reference to their strong work ethic and positive attitude, and how this award will support their academic pursuits. -
Indigenous Student Technology Award

The student must also demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a student in a graduate studies program or a student in their 3rd or 4th year in an undergraduate program. -
Shelby Dickey Memorial Scholarship

The award recognizes a female member of the Nipissing Nordic varsity ski team who demonstrates excellence in athletics, academics, and leadership. The recipient is selected by the Nipissing Lakers Nordic Skiing coach staff, in consultation with the Student Financial Aid office.
