REQUIRES AN ACCOUNTANT
North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited (NBHDL) is a proud, community-owned utility serving the residents and businesses of North Bay, Espanola, and Sables-Spanish Rivers. If you are a highly motivated, results-oriented individual who is accurate, analytical, and well organized, then North Bay Hydro is the place to be. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting including the maintenance of general ledgers, bank reconciliations, the preparation of financial statements and supporting analysis and schedules
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis
- Support year-end audit process
- Compile information for the Ontario Energy Board and Statistics Canada
- Assist the Finance Manager with day-to-day operation of department as well as special projects when required
- Identify and implement process improvements, in partnership with the Finance Manager
- Attend regular meetings and collaborate with all departments and levels of personnel within the organization
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- College Diploma, or University Degree, in related discipline
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), or enrollment in the CPA program, will be considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience in building financial models would be considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively balance and prioritize various deadlines, adapting to changing demands with ease
- A high level of thoroughness and attention to detail; demonstrates a keen eye for inconsistencies and strong commitment to error-free outcomes
Hourly Rate: $41.59
