Schulich Scholarship
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$7,500.00Available to selected full-time students entering the following programs: Bachelor of Education students entering their first year of the two-year program Indigenous Teacher Education Program students entering the first year of their three-year program Master of Education students entering the second year of their thesis route program Master of Science in Kinesiology students entering the first year of their program
PhD in Education (Educational Sustainability) students entering years 3 or 4 of their program
Students may not simultaneously hold any of the following: Chancellor's Award, NU Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, NU First Robotics Scholarship, President's Scholarship, Upper Year Carl Sanders Award or Schulich Scholarship. Students may only hold one Schulich Scholarship during their studies at Nipissing University.
Recipients must have a minimum 80% average and at least one of the following: demonstrated financial need or demonstrated contributions to community.
Bachelor of Education students entering the first year of the BEd program, complete the Schulich Scholarship application found on the Student Financial Service website. Deadline: Jan 15th.
First year undergraduate students (Concurrent BEd or BPHE), complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, available on our website in early March. Deadline: May 1. Consecutive Education students, complete the Schulich Scholarship application found on the Student Financial Service website. Deadline: Jan 15th.

Robert and Louella Surtees Scholarship
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$400.00Awarded to a student enrolled in the full-time Bachelor of Education program who graduated from Nipissing University (minimum 70%) in the previous year, with History or English as a major. Students in the final year of the Concurrent Education program with History or English as a major are also considered. -
Ina Hutchison Memorial Scholarship
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$975.00Awarded to a full-time student entering third or fourth year of a Geography major with a minimum sessional average of 80% on 30 credits taken in the fall/winter session of second year. The recipient is selected by the Geography department. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. -
Euler Family Award
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$1,375.00This is awarded annually to a first or second year student in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program who is a graduate of a northern Ontario high school, with preference to a graduate of a North Bay high school. The recipient must be involved in extracurricular activities and/or have contributed to the community through volunteerism. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. -
Elijah Tupling Memorial Award
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$550.00Established in memory of Elijah Tuplin (BEd 08/09) and awarded to a pre-service teacher who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the BEd program, shows empathy and strong interpersonal skills. Awarded on the basis of financial need, the recipient must also be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. -
North Bay Sports Hall of Fame Barbara Olmsted Award
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$1,000.00Presented annually to a graduate of Nipissing University’s BPHE program who has been accepted in the Masters of Science in Kinesiology at Nipissing University. The recipient should show evidence of outstanding achievement at the undergraduate level with particular emphasis on research potential, community engagement and academic performance. Preference will be given, but not restricted, to students who have demonstrated a commitment to campus and/or community health and wellness. The recipient is selected by a committee comprising MSc Kinesiology faculty, and will be selected as part of the admission process for the program. The award will be paid toward tuition fees for the following fall term, pending confirmation of registration in the MSc Kinesiology program.
