Dr. Schinkel-Ivy talks movement and healthy aging
ArticleDr. Alison Schinkel-Ivy, Associate Professor, Physical and Health Education, received an NSERC Discovery Grant in the amount of $120,000 over five years for her research titled Towards an improved understanding of aging: Quantifying changes in movement during healthy aging using integrated biomechanical approach. Dr. Schinkel-Ivy will receive an additional one-year $12,500 supplement as part of the Discovery Launch Supplement program aimed at supporting early career researchers who are establishing their research program.

Social work students contribute to COVID-19 response efforts in Tanzania
ArticleNipissing University students from the International Social Work class recently completed a community service learning project with a non-governmental organization in Tanzania called Peri-Urban Ambulatory Nexus Tanzania (PANETA), aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19 among the working poor in the busy Kariakoo market area in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. -
$8.4 Million for Post-Secondary Institutions

Nipissing celebrates International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
ArticleMarch 21, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD). IDERD was established by the United Nations in 1966 to commemorate the Sharpeville Massacre of 1960. It is observed every March 21 to bring the world community together to increase its efforts in the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination and racism (United Nations, Resolution 2142, XX1).
