    Joan McLeod Shabogesic is a proud Nbisiing nishnaabe-kwe. She held the position of Land Manager for Nipissing Nation for 37 years. Ms. McLeod Shabogesic was instrumental in the settlement of three land claims that not only increased Nipissing’s land holdings, but also established lucrative settlement trusts.

  • Kim Pate

    Kim Pate was appointed to the Senate of Canada on November 10, 2016. First and foremost, the mother of Michael and Madison, she is also a nationally renowned advocate who has spent the last 35 years working in and around the legal and penal systems of Canada.
  • Richard (Dick) Tafel

    Mr. Richard Tafel is a graduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from The University of Western Ontario. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws through the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

    Ms. Anne Danielle Gingras has been active in the education field for more than 25 years and currently teaches music and religion at École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin in North Bay.

    Ms. Evanka Osmak anchors the weekday prime time slot of Sportsnet Central – Sportsnet’s nightly sports news program. Ms. Osmak initially pursued a career in civil engineering after earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Degree from Queens University. While working as a civil engineer, she realized her true passion rested with broadcasting.

    Born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Mr. Gordon H. Durnan grew up in a family with a passion for community service. In 1977, Mr. Durnan began his career in healthcare philanthropy as the first managing Director of the newly formed York Central Hospital Foundation in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
