​Nipissing University is celebrating six individuals with an honorary degree, the university’s highest distinction, during convocation 2018, June 5 in Brantford and June 7 and 8 in North Bay.

A trio of amazing professors have earned teaching awards from Nipissing University. Dr. Terry Campbell, professor in the Schulich School of Education, and Dr. Carly Dokis, assistant professor of Anthropology, each earned the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Jesse Davis, instructor in the School of Business, earned the Nipissing University Teaching Award for CASBU Members.

This week’s feature focuses on the President’s Gold Medal winning graduate Nathan Mountain. Mountain is from Englehart, ON. He graduated from Nipissing’s Master of Environmental Sciences/Studies program.

Each honorary degree recipient was asked: What is your message to graduates?  What are some of your accomplishments that make you proud? And, what does this honorary degree from Nipissing University mean to you? Today, we are pleased to present Dr. Tom Hedican and Dr. Vince Hawkes.

Nipissing University will honour Edmund Metatawabin, Graeme Murray, Tom Hedican, Commissioner J.V.N (Vince) Hawkes, Susan Nelles Pine and Dr. Colin Simpson with honorary degrees.
