THE OPPORTUNITY

The Marketing Intern contributes to developing and executing a variety of marketing projects that support the Agency’s marketing strategy and strategic goals. They conduct market research, competitor analysis, and track marketing and campaign effectiveness to provide insights that support the marketing strategy. The Marketing Intern maintains digital channels, creating compelling content while maintaining brand message consistency. They coordinate video and photo shoots, organize events such as media conferences, exhibitions, and open house days, and analyze campaign performance. The Marketing Intern works with external community partners as required for specialized projects such as photography and web design, and support planning and executing marketing communications. They also contribute to internal communications, media relations, and crisis communication strategies in order to achieve consistent messaging with all partners.

2026 Marketing Internship Focus

The focus of the internship will include contribution to innovative projects, including planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, communications reports and tracking of key performance indicators. The intern will work to create newsletter templates across the Agency. They will gain hands-on experience in marketing campaigns, social media management and content creation.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Must be a new entrant into the work force, transitioning to a new career or entering a new field
  • Must reside in Northern Ontario for the period of the internship
  • Knowledge of marketing theory and tools used to develop, implement, measure and adapt marketing plans, strategic and tactics
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Advanced software skills using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency with graphic design programs, with a strong understanding and appreciation for design fundamentals; advanced skills in marketing analytics tools, and platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional spelling and grammar; editing and copywriting experience an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Great organizational and presentation skills with the ability to multitask to meet timelines
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and
  • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations.

Education – 3 Year College Diploma

Successful applicants will be required to provide:  

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada 
  • A valid class G Ontario driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy 
  • Clear Police Record Check

Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates

  • $22.00 per hour
