Class of 2008 Bursary
Established by the graduating class of 2008, it is presented annually, on the basis of financial need, to a full-time Nipissing University student who is also a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board Mature or Transfer Student Award
Awarded to an undergraduate Mature (no previous post-secondary) student or a transfer student who registers in a full time undergraduate studies program at Nipissing in a first degree program. It is awarded on the basis of financial need (for Mature Students) and full time academic performance in the most recent year of post-secondary studies (for Transfer students). Studies must have been undertaken in an academic program at an accredited Community College or University. It is not necessary that transfer students have completed their prior post-secondary studies.

Jeremy MacDonald Memorial Award
Established in memory of Jeremy MacDonald, this award is presented to a mature student enrolled in either a History or Political Science major. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.

North Bay and Area Realtors Association Award
Recognizes two full-time first year Nipissing University students, who are graduates of a local North Bay high school and have demonstrated financial need. The recipients must also be in good academic standing.

NU FIRST Robotics Scholarship
Offered in partnership with FIRST to up to 2 outstanding students entering any program at Nipissing University, eligible recipients must have an admission average of at least 85% and must have participated on a high school FIRST Robotics Competition team within the last two years. Renewable at $3000 for up to three additional years if an 85% average is maintained on a minimum 24 credits taken in fall/winter.

Curry Family Bursary in Graduate Studies
Awarded on the basis of financial need to a full time student enrolled in a graduate program at Nipissing University.

Constable Andrew Keating Memorial Award
Established as a tribute to alumnus, Andrew Keating, a Criminal Justice graduate of Nipissing University and a member of the North Bay Police Service. It recognizes a Lakers Men's volleyball student -athlete who best exemplifies the "Success 10" core values both on and off the court. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be in good academic standing. The recipient is selected by the Nipissing Lakers Men's Volleyball coaching staff, in consultation with the Student Awards Office.

President's Gold Medal
A medal, and $500, is awarded to the students graduating with the highest academic average in all courses in each degree program. Students in a four-year program must have earned a minimum of 90 credits at Nipissing University and have a minimum overall average of 80%. Students in a three-year program must have earned a minimum of 60 credits and a minimum overall average of 80%. A President's Gold Medal cannot be held simultaneously with a J.W. Trusler Proficiency Award.

Georgia Lyons Memorial Award
Established to honour the life and passion of long-time Nipissing University employee and alumna, Georgia Lyons. Georgia, also known as "the Grammar Granny" devoted her time to working one-on-one with students, assisting them in developing their writing skills, overcoming challenges and teaching them methods for research and documentations. She shared a wealth of knowledge and had the ability to make people feel comfortable. This award recognizes the efforts of a Nipissing University student who has demonstrated significant effort in overcoming academic challenges such as writing, language or study skills. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and is selected by the Office of Student Development, in consultation with the Financial Aid Office.

Board of Governors Award
Awarded to a full-time, upper year undergraduate student who has shown leadership in extracurricular endeavours and who has a strong academic record. Preference is given to a student who is a resident of North Bay and must demonstrate financial need. The recipient is selected by the Undergraduate Student Services and Awards Committee and must also be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.
