  • The North Bay Youth Soccer Club Heather Cluff Award

    Awarded to one full-time female student entering their first year of studies at Nipissing University. The recipient must demonstrate academic merit, must have been recruited and signed to play varsity soccer with the Nipissing Lakers, and have attended a Nipissing District Secondary School. If there are no eligible soccer players in any given year, the award may be given to a first-year varsity athlete from another team.

    Awarded to one full-time male student entering their first year of studies at Nipissing University. The recipient must demonstrate academic merit, must have been recruited and signed to play varsity soccer with the Nipissing Lakers, and have attended a Nipissing District Secondary School. If there are no eligible soccer players in any given year, the award may be given to a first-year varsity athlete from another team.

  • KPMG Nipissing First Nation Bursary

    Established to support self-identifying Indigenous students who are members of Nipissing First Nation. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and entering their first year of study in an undergraduate degree program, or the Indigenous Foundations Program, at Nipissing University. College transfer students with less than 18 credits will also be considered. In the event there are not enough applicants from Nipissing First Nation, the funding will be open to all Indigenous Students.

  • The Ledger Family Legacy Award

    Established by the Ledger family to commemorate Kristine Ledger’s impact as a Nipissing Laker. The Kristine Ledger Award is presented to a female varsity athlete playing on the Nipissing Women’s Volleyball team. The recipient must demonstrate characteristics that Kristine displayed during her time with the Lakers such as hard work, dedication, competitiveness and resiliency.   • The Charles Family Award

    Awarded to a full-time Nipissing student from the Thunder Bay District, with preference given to a student from Greenstone. Preference will also be given to a student who self-identifies as Indigenous. The recipient must demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and perseverance.

  • Catherine L. Peters Indigenous Student Award (Post-Graduate Studies)

    Presented to a Nipissing student who self-identifies as Indigenous and is graduating from an undergraduate degree program. The recipient must intend on pursuing a post-graduate degree, including graduate studies programs at the Masters level, in the area of education, law, medicine or social work. The recipient must demonstrate financial need. Selected recipient is required to submit proof of acceptance to a post-graduate degree program outlined in the criteria. Application required.

  • NU Entrance Award

    Provides outstanding students with a special opportunity to study in a Northern Ontario university environment. The scholarships are awarded to full-time students entering directly from high school with minimum of 80% on their best six 4U/4M final grades (or provincial, international, or final IB score equivalent), or transferring from college with fewer than 18 transfer credits. Students must be registered in the first year of a Nipissing University undergraduate degree program. To maintain eligibility, it is necessary to maintain a minimum cumulative average of 80%, and students must enroll in no less than 24 credits annually. Students must accept their offer of admission by the date. Students in the upper year Concurrent Education program may only hold the scholarship in their first four years of study. This scholarship will not exceed the value of a student's Fall/Winter tuition fees. Students may not simultaneously hold any of the following: Chancellor's Award, NU Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, NU First Robotics Scholarship, President's Scholarship, Upper Year Carl Sanders Award or Schulich Scholarship. Students in the Consecutive Education, College Partnership (Commerce and BBA) and Nursing Scholar Practitioner programs do not qualify for this scholarship. indicated in their offer letter and must register full time (minimum 24 credits) in the fall/winter semesters for the scholarship to be paid out.
