Congratulations to Dr. Barbi Law, assistant professor in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program, who has been named Researcher of the Month by People for Education.Law is using the tool of mental imagery, a common practice for elite athletes, and applying it to a physical education setting in elementary schools to determine its effect on learning gross motor skills and developing a child’s physical confidence.
People for Education is an independent, parent-led organization. They are passionate about publicly funded education, and believe that well-equipped publicly funded schools, with a well-rounded curriculum, provide young people with the best chance for a bright future. They launched the Researcher of the Month program earlier this year to highlight emerging research in Ontario universities.
