With roots that extend back to the 1900s with the North Bay Normal School, Nipissing University, formally known as “Nipissing University College”, was an affiliate of Laurentian University. It received its charter as an independent university on December 10, 1992. -
Michelann Parr Named Schulich Teaching Chair of Open Education Resource Development
Nipissing University is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelann Parr as the Schulich Teaching Chair of Open Education Resource (OER) Development. Parr is currently a professor in the Schulich School of Education and has worked at Nipissing full time for over 20 years. She is also a proud Laker alumnus, having earned three degrees from Nipissing University. -
NUBASE Reveals Name of Inaugural BIPOC Bursary
On Sunday, September 25, the Nipissing University Black Association for Student Expression (NUBASE) announced that the university’s first-ever bursary for BIPOC students would be named after Warren Lindsay, Director of Services at the Nipissing University Student Union and an active member of NUBASE. -
