Nipissing University welcomes Dr. Amadou Ba for a special presentation on March 2 at 2:30 p.m. in room A122, titled The Military Contribution of Blacks in Canada: African-Canadians and War from 1812 to 1945.

Nipissing’s History Department presents Dr. Lanyan Chen, associate professor in Nipissing’s School of Human and Social Development - Social Welfare and Social Development, for a discussion, titled Unpacking the Historical Roots of Imbalanced Sex Ratio at Birth in China, on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in A252.

On September 14, 1944, Kenneth Donald Duncanson was killed during intense fighting in Belgium during WWII. The Algonquin Regiment, to which he belonged was forced to retreat and in the chaos, Duncanson’s body was left in the Belgian field where he fell. Duncanson’s body remained lost until November 2014, when a hobbyist discovered his remains using a metal detector.
