Position Title: Camp Assistant
Closing Date: Open until filled
Employment Dates: Dates discussed upon hire
Hours of Work: Flexible, up to 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $17.60 per hour + Vacation as determine by HR policy
Job Description: Extended Learning is seeking professionals to work as Camp Assistants. They will assist Camp Leaders and Extended Learning (EL) with youth programs, including summer camps. Camp Assistants will support Camp Leaders by supervising and engaging with participants, leading and assisting with activities, and ensuring a positive camp environment. Camp Assistants could work with youth aged anywhere from 4-12 years old. The successful candidates will collaborate with Camp Leaders, will work directly with the Extended Learning Coordinator, and report to the Director, Teaching and Learning.
Duties Include:
- Respond in a timely manner to any questions/concerns from parents/guardians
- Assist with sign in/sign out of campers
- Assist in leading a variety of activities during youth camps; support campers with tasks throughout these activities
- Assist with preparation of materials, set up and cleanup of camp area
- Support campers with conflicts that arise throughout the camp day
- Communicate any concerns/questions on offerings directly to the Extended Learning Coordinator
- Monitor campers, ensuring their wellbeing and safety and follow all policies and procedures in the Extended Learning Staff Handbook

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working with children ages 4-12
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (12 months or newer)
- Concussion Training (or willing to obtain upon hiring)
- Valid First Aid and CPR C certificate considered an asset
