The following information applies to current high school applicants attending a high school in Canada (except for Ontario).
How to Apply
All domestic applicants (Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident) apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) using the Undergraduate Application.
International applicants (except current Ontario high school applicants) who are studying in Canada on a study permit or studying in another country with no current status in Canada apply using the Nipissing University International Application.
Required Documents
- Official transcripts showing all courses completed and/or in progress.
- If in progress courses cannot be listed on an official transcript have your guidance counsellor send an email to admissions@nipissingu.ca listing all current in progress courses. Midterm grades should also be included in the email if available.
- Transcripts must be sent directly to Nipissing University by your high school.

General Admission Requirements
Secondary School Diploma with four academic level Grade 12 courses (course with % grades not letter grades) including program specific prerequisites. Provincial exams are not required.
Average Calculations
- Admission averages are calculated using the best four academic level Grade 12 courses including prerequisites.
- Scholarship averages are calculated using final grades in the best four academic level Grade 12 courses (prerequisites not required).
- Provincial exams are not required.
- Acceptable courses must have % grades not letter grades.
- If you repeated a course, we use the higher grade when calculating the admission and scholarship averages.
- We accept all courses completed at Ministry inspected and approved schools.
- Non-academic courses (e.g., Physical Education, co-op – out of school component) are not used in the calculation of admission or scholarship averages.
- All admission offers are conditional upon successfully completing four academic level Grade 12 courses, by the end of June 30. Offers are also conditional upon maintaining a minimum average (stated in an offer of admission) on final grades presented as of June 30.
