A trio of amazing professors have earned teaching awards from Nipissing University. Dr. Terry Campbell, professor in the Schulich School of Education, and Dr. Carly Dokis, assistant professor of Anthropology, each earned the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Jesse Davis, instructor in the School of Business, earned the Nipissing University Teaching Award for CASBU Members.

Nipissing University is celebrating five individuals with an honorary degree, the university’s highest distinction, during convocation 2017, June 7 – 9 in North Bay.Nipissing is bestowing honorary degrees to:Tom Jenkins on Wednesday, June 7 at 2 p.m. Clint Malarchuck on Thursday, June 8, at 9:30 a.m. Dr. Lynnette Leeseberg Stamler on Thursday, June 8, at 2 p.m. Jeannette Corbiere Lavell on Friday, June 9, at 9:30 a.m. Roy Slack on Friday, June 9, at 2 p.m.

Each honorary degree recipient was asked: What is your message to graduates?  What are some of your accomplishments that make you proud? And, what does this honorary degree from Nipissing University mean to you? Today, we are pleased to present Dr. Dawn Lavell-Harvard.

It’s a week of celebration, the beginning of a new chapter in life for graduates and a time to look back fondly on friends made, goals achieved lessons learned and amazing experiences enjoyed both in and out of the classroom.

It’s that most wonderful time in the academic year, convocation, when students celebrate their achievements with peers, family and friends before embarking on the next chapter of their lives and their ongoing quest for education.
