Nipissing joins North Bay Pride celebrations

Due to the pandemic, North Bay Pride postponed its typical June pride month celebrations to September. The “We Are Pride Festival” kicks off on September 15 and runs until September 19. Nipissing University has partnered with North Bay Pride on two free events this month.

Sports Talk with Brock McGillis

On Wednesday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m., North Bay Pride, sponsored by Nipissing University and Canadore College, are hosting a Sports Talk on Facebook live featuring retired pro hockey player Brock McGillis and General Manager of the North Bay Battalion, Adam Dennis. The talk will focus on 2SLGBTQ+ players, their experiences, and the future of sports inclusivity. Lady Rae-Vyn from Not So Str8 Talk will be the host of the event. More information including the link to the Facebook live stream can be found here.

Ask the Candidates

On Thursday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m., North Bay Pride’s Geri Atrick will be interviewing Nipissing-Timiskaming MP candidates on Facebook live. Have a question you want asked? Message North Bay Pride via Facebook.

Safer Spaces Training

Student Development and Services in partnership with the Aids Committee of North Bay and Area, will once again be offering all staff, students, and faculty the opportunity to participate in Safer Spaces training.
